JNF Conference in Phoenix Features IALC

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu; Princess Sarvath El Hassan of Jordan (the wife of Prince El Hassan bin Talal, King Hussein's brother); Dr. Nehama Ronen, director general of the Israeli Ministry of the Environment; and Shlomo Gravetz, world chairman of Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, were all featured at the Jewish National Fund (JNF) national conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
IALC president Dr. Kennith Foster was also a featured speaker in a special panel, titled "Breathing New Life Into the Desert," that took place on October 19th at the Desert Botanical Garden, Phoenix. Others in the panel included long-time IALC friend Dr. Tom Hoekstra, of the U.S. Forest Service, and Yitzhak Ayalon, Director of the Botanical Gardens in Jerusalem. Panel members talked about the importance of arid lands management and the kinds of cooperative work necessary to implement a global strategy geared towards protecting scarce water and arable soil resources.
