Proposal Abstract

This project, Ancient Desert Agriculture Systems Revived (ADASR), was carried out from August 2004 to January 2007. The collecting of the relevant data was terminated and the results are presented on the web these days. Also the set up of the website was terminated. Since the goal of the project was to set up a website on the basis of several principles, this goal was fully achieved the current location of the Website is: http://www.mnemotrix.com/adasr/. Two IDs and passwords were provided to IALC members to enter into the system of the Website, which allows additional access if requested.

The IALC request to open the Website already at the beginning stage of the project was paid off since it attracted immediately a group of collaborators and supporters that promoted the goals of the project much beyond the original goal:

  1. ADASR project is now an official research program in Bar Ilan University eligible to raise fund and already has a small but constant financial support from the University
  2. The ADASR project was carried out with full participation of Mnemotrix Israel Ltd., an advanced technology developer with 25 years of experience working in the field of smart database design and hosting, GIS and related remote sensing systems.
  3. The ADASR project has recently begun a new international desert study with the collaboration of the University of New Mexico EDAC (Earth Data Analysis Center) and other participants (see the just established Website of the project at: http://edac.unm.edu:8080/adasr_edac.
